Typhoon Lagoon Coupons, Savings and Theme Park Description for 2012

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a water park located in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  The park features attractions and fun-filled action the whole family.  The 56 acre park is full of some of the wildest water rides at Walt Disney World.

The park features super fast water slides, a children’s area and a wave pool with waves that reach 6 ft. in height, perfect for beating the heat.  Plunge in head first in Shark Reef.  This unique attraction allows gutsy guests to snorkel with live sharks!

The legend behind the park is that it was created by one of the largest storms ever.  During all of the stormy chaos, surfboards and boats were hurled into trees, houses and mountains.  A shrimp boat, Miss Tilly swept up by the mighty typhoon was hurled onto the peak of a volcanic mountain, Mount Mayday.  Today, the boat still sits atop this mountain and every thirty minutes, the boat’s whistle blows as the volcano tries to dislodge it while shooting a mystifying geyser of water into the sky.

After the storm was over, the legend says that Mount Mayday became a Mecca for waterslides and water fun.
